Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has announced that the state government is prepared to place Section 39A in abeyance for St Andre Projects and has already initiated steps toward its revocation.
Addressing the issue, the Chief Minister stated that a formal letter regarding the move has been kept ready and the process could commence shortly. However, he clarified that the revocation will require adherence to due procedure and may take approximately eight days or more to complete.
Dr. Sawant explained that mandatory processes such as convening a Town and Country Planning (TCP) Board meeting and issuing public notices must be followed before any final decision is implemented.
The government’s move signals a significant step in addressing concerns surrounding Section 39A, with officials indicating that procedural transparency and compliance will be ensured throughout the process.
