PANJIM: Goa finally launched its much awaited IT Policy amidst huge fanfare.
The policy was launched by Union IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar.
Encouraged by the response, Goa government also announced that soon they will be rolling out the electronic policy too.
Prasad also digitally inaugurated the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) office at Udyog Bhawan, which has an incubation centre with 48 plug and play systems.
Two MoUs were also signed between Goa government and two companies – Wowsoft and Visteon to enable them to set up units in the state. Wowsoft has already committed to generate 3000 jobs in Goa within four years.
Parrikar thanked the Union Minister for this gesture and announced that Goa will soon roll out its Electronic Policy too.
