VALPOI: Heavy rain and gusty winds in Sattari Taluka in the last two days have uprooted many trees which have fallen on the roads of Pissurlem and Morlem Panchayat areas causing disruption to day-to-day life.
Besides this, there is no power supply also in the rural panchayat areas of Khotodem, Nagargao and Savardem.
“The Savardem Panchayat members have not done any pre-monsoon works in the area this year. That’s why we are facing the power shortage problem in our village,” said social worker, Vishwanath Nene.
Another villager, Shivnath Usapka said, “There is no power supply in our Barazan Village, since the last five days. We have written a complaint to the Electricity Department, Valpoi. But they have not taken any action yet.”
