Houses of two constables in police quarters burgled

PANJIM: In a major embarrassment to the police, burglars broke into two houses of cops in Altinho, Panjim and fled with valuables worth Rs 2.90 lakh. 
What is ironic is that their houses are situated in the Reserve Police Quarters and in the area where senior bureaucrats, senior police officers and ministers reside. 
The incident took place on intervening night of February 20-21 where burglars broke into two of the residential houses and decamped with valuables, revealed Panjim Police who are investigating the case.
Police Constables Chandan Pagi and Bhago Pavane lodged complaints with Panjim Police Station urging the police to investigate. Both constables are attached with the security unit of Goa Police. 
At Pagi’s residents burglers broke open the lock of the main door and decamped with valuables including four gold bangles, five gold chains and three pairs of gold rings. In Pavane’s case, burglars found one gold chain with a pendant and cash Rs 6000. 
Lady Police Sub Inspector Rashmi Bhaidkar is investigating the cases.
