BICHOLIM: Sixteen cattle were killed in a lightning strike at Mayem.
According to sources, the lightning struck a goshala at Shikeri, Mayem. The cattle shed managed by Kamlakant Tari also looks after stray cattle.

Meanwhile, gusty winds, thunder and lightning caused havoc in Bicholim taluka. Trees got uprooted in several parts of the taluka causing huge losses. Bicholim Mamlatdar, Pravinjay Pandit inspected the house of one Prabhakar Ghatwal and others at Deulwada, Shirgao which was damaged due to cyclone and assured to rehabilitate them at the Government Shelter Home. Fire force officials worked round-the-clock to clear the roads.
