MAPUSA: Mapusa police arrested a car thief with the help of Cuncolim police, recently.
Mapusa police have arrested one Alex Surya Mathew (28), a native of Bangalore, for stealing a Toyota Qualis (GA-01 S-1302) which was parked opposite civil and criminal courts at Mapusa.
The car owner, Eknath Vaikunth Pawaskar, a resident of Peddem Mapusa, had complained that his car was stolen from its parking place on July 16, at around 8 am.
The accused was arrested by Cuncolim police handed over to Mapusa police. During the interrogation, accused revealed that the stolen car is at Thiruvananthapuram.A team of police went to Thiruvananthapuram and recovered the stolen car.
The police team consisted of HC Chandrashekhar Amonkar, PC Vinay Hiroji, Prasad Gaonkar and Rameshwar Gawas.
Further investigation is in progress under the supervision of PI Tushar Lotlikar.
