MARGAO: Commuters were got starnded on Friday morning after a hill near the new Verna-Loutolim bypass road caved in and caused a mini-landslide.
While the Verna Fire Brigade rushed to the site to clear the road, blame was put on the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) for not keeping adequate precautionary measures in place.
The fire brigade officials added that there were no injuries to life or property.
Furthermore, the commuters as well as people who live near raised concerns about how the hill was cut and about the possibility of another landslide at the same spot.
