PANJIM: Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Ltd (IPSCDL) Director Sidharth Kuncalienker and IPSCDL MD and CEO Swayandipta Pal Chaudhuri on Friday met Yang Amat Berbahagia Tun Samy Vellu, Special Envoy (Infrastructure) India and South Asia Prime Minister’s Department appointed with ministerial rank by the Malaysian government.
The aim of the meeting was to discuss Infrastructure related issues where Panjim can collaborate with Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Speaking to Herald, Kuncalienker said, “We discussed infrastructure development in Malaysia, especially in Kuala Lumpur. Being tropical countries, Goa and Malaysia share the same climatic conditions and common design issues. It was a fruitful meeting, as both delegations agreed to take the discussions forward.”
He added, “Public transportation issues were discussed as Kuala Lamput has excellent public transport combining monorail, metro rail, light rail, normal rail, bus system, taxis and public shared cycles.”
The Goa team stressed that Panjim is looking at revamping its electrical, water and sanitation systems to ensure uninterrupted reliable power, adequate clean and potable water supply to households as well septic tank free city by 2020.
