PONDA: As some schools prepare to start online classes for Class X students, the parents of those Class IX students, who have failed, are worried about the future of their children as the Education Department has not yet taken a decision to hold supplementary exams.
The parents have demanded that Education Department take decision on conducting supplementary exams for Class IX failed students so that they can clear the same and attend online Classes X classes once they commence. They fear that with no supplementary exams, these Class IX failed students will miss the online classes for Class X students. The parents complain that with no exams the students cannot be promoted to Class X and attend online classes, which may commence any time as government has already provided online training to teachers.
Some Headmasters confirmed that on account of COVID-19 pandemic, the final exams of Class IX students were not held this year, but those students were promoted to Class X based on their average performance in three exams held earlier. However, the supplementary exams for Class IX students who failed are not held. Further, there is no decision or direction from Education Department to hold these exams.
