Pre-employment training cancelled

PANJIM: The State government on Wednesday decided to do away with pre-employment training as a condition for recruitment in government departments.
In 2001, the Parrikar-led government had introduced the pre-employment training scheme to provide training to selected candidates before absorption in government departments.
The rule was applied only for junior stenographer, lower division clerk, heavy vehicle drivers, light vehicle drivers and government primary school teachers.
The Cabinet on Wednesday discussed that since pre employment scheme has been discontinued from the State it should also be removed from the clause as a requisite for recruitments under recruitment rules.
The Cabinet decided to remove the clause “successful completion of pre-employment scheme training” from the recruitment rules.
