PANJIM: Commuters living at Ribandar, Chorao and nearby places along the route leading to Old Goa which is the venue for exposition of the sacred relics of St Francis Xavier were left stranded after their regular mode of transport – the shuttle service – did not stop to pick them up for a couple of days.
Many of them went to the RTO office at Patto to complain and ensure that they should be heard.
However, later on a meeting was held between officials in charge of the Exposition and the director of transport and the issues looked as if it had been sorted out.
“The issue has been settled. Three to four buses that would be doing the rounds to cater to locals would also pick up passengers,” director of transport Arun Dessai said.
According to RTO officials the orders on the no stopping of shuttle services were issued by the Collector.
