Australia have named their 15-member squad for the upcoming ODI series against India, scheduled to begin on October 19. The high-voltage contest will also mark the return of Indian stalwarts Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Mitchell Marsh has been appointed captain in the absence of Pat Cummins, who is still recovering from a lower back injury.
The squad features a couple of significant changes. Middle-order batter Marnus Labuschagne, one of the key contributors to Australia’s 2023 ODI World Cup triumph, has been dropped following a lean run with the bat. Glenn Maxwell, meanwhile, continues to recover from a wrist fracture and has been ruled out of both the ODI and T20I series. He is expected to return in the Big Bash League later this year.

All-rounder Cameron Green has also made his comeback to the ODI setup after a long injury layoff. However, he has been excluded from the T20I squad as he focuses on his preparations for the Ashes series. The 26-year-old recently bowled his first competitive overs since back surgery, claiming one wicket in a Sheffield Shield match for Western Australia.
Australia also revealed their T20I squad for the first two matches of the five-game series. Nathan Ellis returns after the birth of his child, while Josh Inglis is back following a calf injury that sidelined him from the New Zealand tour. Their inclusion sees Alex Carey and Josh Philippe omitted from the setup.
