MARGAO: The officials of South Goa Collectorate had sealed a unit of Mobor Fisheries on Tuesday in accordance with the orders of the Collector.
The officials along with other staff arrived at the site at around 12.30 pm and sealed only one of the structures in the premises.
According to the complainant Iris Passainha, the staff had intentionally misinterpreted the order and sealed only one unit instead of sealing all of the 25 doors to the structures at the site. “The AwalKarkunRamakant Naik and Dhuri along with Talathi Desmond misinterpreted the order and didn’t completely seal the premises. We met the collector and told him that his officials have not implemented the order. The Collector called the officials and told them to seal all the structures in the premises tomorrow (Wednesday)”.
Mobor Fisheries is currently operating as a fishing jetty and boat repair dock. The Cavelossim Village Forum has filed several complaints against the firm for illegal construction within the CRZ violation, operating a dock without permission and several other violations.
