In its complaint to Ponda police, Sanathan Ashram Ramnathi stated that some persons trespassed into its premises and manhandled three members of Sanathan Ashram with an iron rod, injuring the trio and damaging decorative flower pots at the gate.
According to Ponda Police Inspector C L Patil, the incident took place at about 6 am when driver of a vehicle, which was involved in carrying a Narkasura, asked the gatekeeper to open the gate of Sanathan Ashram as he wanted to reverse the vehicle. But the gatekeeper refused.
Infuriated by the gatekeeper’s refusal some persons from the vehicle got down and trespassed into the Sanathan premises and manhandled the gatekeeper and two other workers.
Police said the three injured persons were shifted to Sub-District Hospital at Ponda and were given medical treatment. They were later discharged from the hospital.
PI Patil said that they were investigating the matter and appropriate action will be taken.
