PANJIM: Additional Sessions Judge Sharmila Patil on Thursday granted bail to Agnelo Dias, a resident of St Inez-Panjim, who was allegedly caught red handed with illegal possession of 3,000 grams of ganja worth Rs three lakh at Campal.
Adv Myron Araujo representing the applicant submitted that Dias was not guilty of possessing commercial quantity of contraband and that the rigours of Section 37 of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act will not apply and prayed that bail be granted.

The judge directed the applicant to be released on bail upon furnishing Rs 25,000 with one surety of the like amount as well as to attend the Panjim police station twice a month on the 15th and 30th of each month till the chargesheet is filed.
