MARGAO: The Town and Country Planning department on Thursday inspected the beach access to Mobor beach following complaints from locals that the access road was allegedly encroached upon by a starred beach resort.
Members of Cavelossim Villagers Forum and the TCP inspected the beach access with measuring tapes, even though the TCP officials did not turn up with the original plan of the resort at the time of the inspection.
Upon inspection, the TCP official found that the beach access was around 2.20 mts at one point and three meters at another location.
A member of the Forum asserted that the inspection has clearly found that the beach access is less than four meters as indicated in the original plan. The Forum member has also contended that the hotel has encroached on the set back area and demanded action.
