CURCHOREM: Fr Agnelo Primary School, Curchorem, will organise a six-day tiatr festival at Ravindra Bhavan hall, Curchorem, on April 24 at 7.30 pm.
The tiatr festival is being organised in recognition of the services of late Albert S Carvalho to the Konkani stage.
Late Carvalho, born on October 1, 1938, worked tirelessly on the Konkani stage to uplift the standard of tiatr. He wrote and directed plays like ‘Nitik Sampodlo’, ‘Sounsaracho Mhojer Visvas Nam’ and ‘Hospital’ among many others.
Konkani stage artistes like Mike Mehta, Jose Rod as a child artiste, late Remmie Colaco, late Jacinto Vaz and late M Boyer acted and sang in his plays. He died on November 24, 1995.
