VASCO: All is not well with the main road in Vasco, which was tarred years ago, has now plagued with many potholes.
The locals on Wednesday stressed on the need for the PWD to repairs the road on an urgent basis.
They alleged that the politicians who have been harping over the development in town have turned a blind eye to this road leading to Chicalim slope.
Motorists say that PWD should have asphalted the road before monsoons.
Shoaib Kutti from New Vadem said the roads, one near Goa Shipyard and the other at Vaddem, have developed potholes, which makes commuting along these routes uneasy and unsafe.
Siya, another resident complained that the main roads in the town appear to have gone for a toss with the government authorities neglecting them. The officials should focus on providing basic amenities rather than talking about big projects.
The efforts to contact Assistant Engineer (PWD Roads) as to what steps have been taken by the department proved futile as the official was not available.
