PANJIM: Usha Waman Bale, writer and retired teacher, expired on Saturday after prolonged illness. She was 65. Her Konkani book ‘Potpuja’ on Goa’s authentic traditional recipes, had broken all records of Goan books.
The book had become popular due to a dynamic time-table of breakfast and meals as well as several unknown recipes. Her new Konkani book “Sanna Khanna” (traditional recipes of Hindu festivals) was published before the Chaturthi festival.
She is survived by her husband Waman Bale, two daughters and grandchildren. The funeral procession will leave her Ambaulim residence in Quepem on Sunday at 11.30 am.
