PANJIM: Immaculate Conception Sports Club, Paroda edged past Football Club of Nerul 2-1 to enter the quarter-finals of 15th All-Goa inter-village football tournament organized by Immaculate Conception Sports Club at Avedem panchayat ground, Avedem-Paroda. Nerula led 1-0 at the breather.
Nerul dominated the first session and surged ahead through Jiboy Gonsalves powerful strike.
Stung by the setback, Paroda started attackingly in the second session and equalized through Selby Fernandes.
Spurred by the equalizer, Paroda went all-out and scored the match-winner in the 52nd minutes as Gopal Gaocar intelligently shot past the rival custodian.
