SANQUELIM: Sesa Football Academy Sanquelim scored a hard fought 1-0 win over Assonora United club, played at Sanquelim ground, on Saturday.
The winners held the upper hand throughout the duel, however their strikers let them down time and again.
In the early minutes of the match Kunal Salgaocar faltered in scoring from right infront of the Assonora goal and then Cyres saw his hot blooded right footer miss the target narrowly.
Couple of minutes later Kunal charged into the rival danger zone only to be blocked by the Assonora custodian in a one on one position.
The much awaited goal finally happened in the 55th minute of play when Kunal on getting hold of the ball inside the 18-yard box, scored through a powerful placing shot, 1-0.
Assonora came close to restoring parity in the 67th minute of play, however Datta failed to get the ball past the Sesa keeper.
