In and around Panjim, the capital of Goa, one is confronted with roads that are in very bad and dangerous condition. Why go to the city interiors, the very road in front of the Corporation of The City of Panjim office is enough evidence of the negligence and irresponsibility of those in authority.
They are in such conditions for a long time, we can’t do anything but face them in our day to day life, says one Panjimite; while another friend of mine shares his lament over a cup of tea: we had elected the MLA in good faith that we will see a better face of “Ponje”, but all in vain.
With the change of wind in different direction this monsoon, we have seen a strange happening in our city.
Obviously, with everything remaining unchanged “Ponje” is a place for world and “desi” tourists to come and see the strange roads, garbage dumps and unspeakable way of life Goans live.
These heritage roads are preserved for the tourists to enjoy the humps and bumps of “Goenche roste”.
