Sporting Club Davorlim booked their place in the semifinals of the 5th Betalbatim Villagers Cup 2026 after edging past Canacona SCC 8-6 in a penalty shootout following an entertaining 3-3 draw in the quarterfinal played at the Betalbatim Panchayat Ground on Tuesday. The tournament is being organised by Betalbatim Sporting Club.
Canacona SCC opened the scoring in the 30th minute through Chaitan Kamorpant and held a 1-0 advantage at the halftime break.

Davorlim came out with renewed energy in the second half and turned the match around with three quick goals. Milton Colaco struck twice in the 33rd and 42nd minutes, while Aeron Figueredo added another in the 37th minute to hand Davorlim a commanding 3-1 lead.
Canacona mounted a spirited comeback in the closing stages of the match. Ronaldo Oliveira reduced the deficit in the 54th minute before Chaitan Kamorpant completed his brace with a stoppage-time goal in the 60+2 minute, restoring parity at 3-3 and forcing the contest into a penalty shootout.
In the tie-breaker, Sporting Club Davorlim held their nerve by converting all of their spot-kicks to seal an 8-6 victory and advance to the semifinals.
Aeron Figueredo of Sporting Club Davorlim was named Man of the Match for his impressive performance. The award was presented by Anthony Leo Fernandes, GFA Executive Committee Member and Zilla Panchayat member.
