The hypocrisy of rhetorics

As witnessed by one and all, public meetings are spaces where orators spew their vitriol on listless, apathetic, audiences, ranting against this or that governmental malfeasance. To me it is an exercise in absurdity, that pays no dividends, except for the detractor who at the end of the day amasses the spoils left behind by the instigator.
This then is the hypocrisy to my mind, of all the rhetoric that spewed forth after the death of the poor defenseless girl who was brutalized so wantonly, by a person whom the law claims is a minor. This man who displaying signs of a beast literally disemboweled her innards ~ but as the law claims he is a minor, he may well walk free after a period of three months of some sort of imprisonment. Free perhaps to perpetuate his evil deeds further.

The government, aside from issuing lip-service, has no amendment in place to castigate the perpetrator. Justice JS Verma presented his report for the government to accept and implement rapidly. But knowing India and Indian laws, the matter will be debated ad nauseum in the temperate confines of television channel studios ~ all in the greater glory of chasing better ratings for themselves, while nothing concrete emerges except for a lot of hot air, while rape incidents continue to go unaccounted for throughout India.
The matter becomes laughable, because it is claimed that Goa is the safest place on earth although evidence points to the contrary, with rapes occurring at regular intervals. After the Delhi rape case our people here in Goa seemed to have pumped some iron and are reporting the inhuman vagaries of the perpetrators at their respective police stations. And the police safeguarding their own follies (whereby protectors of law became perpetrators themselves), are eagerly recording the complaints. This more so after the rape of a young girl at a school in Vasco da Gama, where the public are blaming the political and police authorities. In the light of all this, what value the rhetoric expressed by our CM, who claimed such incidents could never happen in Goa? Of what use then all the assurances, and rhetoric that has been expounded, that bears no consonance with reality?
