PANJIM: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Goa stated that the BJP-led government is an unholy bundle of contradictions, and statements made by ministers prove that the government is only bothered about holding on to power.
AAP State Convenor Elvis Gomes said, the coalition partners and BJP are at loggerheads even on issues directly affecting the day-to-day lives of the people such as beef ban, as well as drugs and late night parties.
“This is creating confusion in the bureaucracy and adversely affecting governance delivery to the people,” he said.
He said Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar should rein-in his ministers and the government get down to the serious business of governing.
He said Parrikar has already gone back on his word to declare the coalition government’s Common Minimum Programme within 30 days. “AAP demands that the Common Minimum Programme be made public immediately and that it articulates the government’s stand on beef ban, and how it will resolve the conflict between local residents and the tourism trade over late night rave parties, drug menace as well as other issues like the Regional Plan,” Gomes said.
AAP has condemned the out of turn comment of MGP president Pandurang (Dipak) Dhavalikar, demanding a total beef ban in Goa. “The demand for closure of Goa Meat Complex is foolish and a case of flexing non-existent political muscle to further the MGP’s bargaining power,” Gomes said.
On Goa Forward he said, “It has contrary positions with the BJP as well as contradictions within the party itself.”
