Chidambaram, Rao to take decision on pre-poll alliance, says Chodankar

Former union minister to tour most of the Block Congress committees to know their views of party’s prospects for the 2022 Goa Assembly elections during his next visit this month

PANJIM: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) president Girish Chodankar on Friday said that senior party leaders P Chidambaram and Dinesh Rao will take decision on pre-poll alliance for the ensuing Goa Assembly polls.

Speaking to the reporters at Congress House, Chodankar said, “The mandate to decide on pre-poll alliance with political parties for the upcoming Assembly elections is given to our senior leaders former Union Minister P Chidambaram and AICC in-charge of Goa desk Dinesh Rao. They will take all party office-bearers, leaders and block committee members into confidence before deciding on pre-poll alliance at appropriate time. Both the leaders have started their deliberations.”

Chidambaram is visiting Goa on October 9. During his four-day visit, he will tour most of the Block Congress committees to know their views of Congress party’s prospects for the 2022 Goa Assembly elections.
