I have been a regular visitor to Goa for the last 15 years. However the state of the beaches on the CCB (Candolim-Calangute-Baga) belt and Baga Creek is now the worst I have ever seen. Broken glass, empty cans and bottles all over. Not only is this unsightly but extremely dangerous from a health and safety issue.
In order to restore the beautiful beaches of Goa drastic action needs to be taken immediately to resolve this situation. The concerned authorities should provide more beach cleaners, litter bins and a regular emptying system of them, ‘keep beach clean’ signs and weekly inspections by senior council officials. Shack owners and their staff need to ensure that their immediate area is kept clean. Beach police need to give out fines for littering. Last and not least is for everyone including tourists to leave the beach as you find it, clean and tidy.
