PANJIM: The High Court of Bombay in Goa will on August 22 hear final arguments in the disqualification petition filed by Congress against its former MLA Vishawajit Rane.
When the matter came up for hearing on Tuesday, Rane’s counsel sought a week’s adjournment which was accepted by the Congress counsel. The Court then decided to take up the final hearing on August 22.
Rane is presently in the BJP and a minister in the Manohar Parrikar government. He is also contesting the August 23 by-polls from Valpoi constituency as he had resigned his membership of the Legislative Assembly to join BJP.
