French sailor held at Calangute

Calangute Police on Monday arrested a 39-year-old French sailor on charges of assault and damaging government property at Calangute.
According to Calangute PI Manjunath Dessai, French sailor, Onry Emile, who was heavily intoxicated wanted to make an entry into a bar and restaurant, where he was denied entry by the bouncer.
The sailor on being denied entry got into an argument with the bouncer and allegedly assaulted the bouncer.
The bouncer then brought the matter to the notice of Calangute Police, who tried to pacify Emile. However, Emile did not relent and allegedly tried to assault the Calangute Police.
Calangute Police officers tried to restrain him and overpower the sailor, who tried to flee from the site.
Emile hurled a stone and smashed the glasses of the police jeep.
Emile was finally overpowered by the Calangute Police and was taken to the Calangute Police Station, where he was arrested under Sections 323, 353, 336 of IPC and 3 of PDPP Act. Emile was later released on bail.
