PANJIM: The Amazing Goa Global Business Summit 2024, organised by the Vibrant Goa Foundation in collaboration with the government of Goa, kicked off on Saturday at Shyama Prasad Stadium. The three-day event aims to unlock new business pathways, particularly for Goa’s MSMEs (Micro, small and medium enterprises), through innovation, international networking, and investment opportunities.

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant inaugurated the event, alongside key dignitaries, highlighting the summit’s role in showcasing Goa’s economic potential beyond tourism. “We envision Goa as a green energy leader,” said Sawant, aligning the summit’s goals with India’s vision for self-reliance and sustainability. His remarks were echoed by Union Minister Piyush Goyal, who called Goa a strategic hub for both business and tourism.
The summit began with the Goa MSME Adhiveshan 2.0, focusing on “Finance and Innovation” for small enterprises, followed by the opening of the Amazing Goa Business Expo. The expo offered local businesses a venue to present products and services, fostering engagement with visiting delegates and business leaders. In a major highlight, over 400 B2B meetings are expected under the Reverse Buyer-Seller Meet, facilitated by the Ministry of MSME’s RAMP initiative, linking Goan enterprises with global counterparts. The afternoon sessions covered a range of industry topics from IT and cybersecurity to health and wellness, legal guidance, and startup challenges. Vinay Verma, Chairman of the Summit, emphasised, “This event is about creating global opportunities for Goan MSMEs to thrive, connecting them with international markets.”
The summit, continuing over the next two days, will host sessions on tech innovations, women-led entrepreneurship, and sustainable agriculture, concluding with a focus on Australia as a partner nation.
