mapusa: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday said that people come to Goa from other States and countries to set up their crime businesses.
Speaking at the inauguration of the renovated Betim police outpost, he advised the people of Goa to be alert and proactive to reduce the crime rate in the State. He added that due to the efficiency of the Goa Police, the State had achieved highest 94 per cent crime detection rate.
The Chief Minister said that the Goa Police mobile App for the online registration of complaints will be launched within a month.
Through the app, citizens can lodge their complaints online by using identity proof.
Using the identity proof, citizens can lodge their complaints online and Goa Police will act on it, he said.
Pointing out that cybercrimes are increasing at alarming rates, Director General of Police (DGP) Jaspal Singh said that his police department has charted out programme for educating people’s representative institutions on cybercrime.
