Team begins checking passengers at Mollem

COLLEM, AUG 12 In the wake of a swine flu scare in the State, a swine flu awareness team has begun checking passengers arriving in the State through the Mollem check post. According to reports, the Directorate of Health Services has deployed a team of doctors at Mollem entry point. Members of Nehru Yuva Kendra, South Goa, and NSS unit of Vishweshwar Shankar Laad Higher Secondary School, Piliem-Dharbandoda will also assist doctors at the site.

In the wake of a swine flu scare in the State, a swine flu awareness team has begun checking passengers arriving in the State through the Mollem check post.
According to reports, the Directorate of Health Services has deployed a team of doctors at Mollem entry point. Members of Nehru Yuva Kendra, South Goa, and NSS unit of Vishweshwar Shankar Laad Higher Secondary School, Piliem-Dharbandoda will also assist doctors at the site.
Passengers traveling by inter-state buses and four-wheelers along the Belgaum-Goa via Anmode road were compulsory stopped at the entry point for screening test. Volunteers also questioned passengers regarding swine flu symptoms.
According to sources, the team of doctors also informed the passengers that swine flu centres have been set up at Chicalim and Panjim.
Doctors from Sanguem and Collem health centres, Dr Baptist Mascarenhas, Dr Shobha Phaldessai, Sr Sandra Fernandes, Vijay Kakodkar and Dr Rupesh Salgaonkar were present at the site.
Besides, Nehru Yuva Kendra District Youth Coordinator Shirish Lawande along with Kendra members, and about 25 students of Laad Higher Secondary School are participating in the awareness movement.
Sanguem Mamlatdar Parag Nagarsekhar also visited the check post to take stock of the situation.
