but the meeting turned into an election war when Parrikar asserted that nobody is worse hit in Modi’s demonetisation than Luizinho Faleiro, Digambar Kamat, Churchill Alemao and Vijai Sardesai since they are the biggest holders of black money.
Parrikar also took a dig at Sardesai’s recent statements urging Goans not to give a majority to any single party.
Terming Sardesai as one of the middlemen, like Kamat and then governor S C Jamir, he said such people like Goa to have multiple Chief Ministers in one decade.
“We don’t do schemes for votes neither do we reach out to people with lies and gossip. Our performance at the Centre and State is what culminates the effort of the party,” Parrikar asserted.
“All rumor mongering about vermin, football and coconut trees arose from Fatorda. Fatorda residents made a mistake and gave the wrong Vijai a vote in 2012 and we know you repent giving this man a vote who only misleads and lies about the BJP governments finances but takes maximum benefit from the government,” stated Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar.
Parsekar, sounding the poll bugle, stated that Goans should judge him and Parrikar for the infrastructure, development and corruption-free governance provided for the last five years.
While MLAs and minister included Union Minister Shripad Naik, Mahadev Naik, Nilesh Cabral and BJP leaders including Prakash Velip, Shet Tanavade, BJP President Vinay Tendulkar along with Curtorim BJP candidate aspirant Arthur D’Silva besides Margao Municipal Council councilors in the midst of around 5,000 people.
Parsekar told Xaxti residents that there is no divide of North Goans and South Goans on any issue or project and Goa should stay united.
He also made a hand gesture to say that Xaxti and Pernem people have the same choices and likes in bull fights and hence Sardesai should not create a North and South divide on unwanted issues.
