SATTARI: The mining ban will be majorly effected to Pissurlem, Honda and Bhirondem Panchayat in Sattari Taluka.
It will adversely affect Honda village market, Valpoi Market and Sankhali Market in the coming days, say mining dependents from the Taluka.
Besides, the bank transaction, will get affected as most of Taluka banks transaction are dependent on the mining industry, says Laxman Gawas, Managing Director, Sattari Urban Bank.
“Now the Government have to frame a proper policy for mining Industry in Goa, otherwise same things will happen again after mining starts. There are many trucks and trucks drivers in Pissurlem Panchayat, now where will they get work.” Says Hanumant Parab, truck owner.
“The four panchayats in Sattari is totally dependent on mining industry and we are not getting any mining industry benefit, all the benefits goes to mining lease holders,” says Sameer Govekar, a businessman.
