PANJIM: Tourism Minister Manohar Azgaonkar said that the annual Goa Food & Cultural Festival will attract tourists besides drawing a large number of Goans to the event. The 5-day event was inaugurated on Wednesday at the DB Bandodkar Ground in Panjim.
“This is an annual festival and a part of tourism promotion to attract domestic and international tourists to Goa besides drawing Goans to enjoy the show,” the Minister said speaking to reporters after inaugurating the event which will continue until Sunday, February 10.
He further stated that local stakeholders are expecting good rewards from the tourism industry after closure of mining.
The festival is having a host of professionals from the tourism and hospitality industry; hoteliers, restaurateurs, beverage brands and lifestyle outlets showcasing their premium offerings. During the five-day extravaganza, there are live performances, cooking competitions and dance performances by various groups scheduled to keep the audience enthralled. The live acts will feature a mix of local talent as well as some popular national names like Antariksh, Thaikkudam Bridge, Bad Blood, Pineapple Express and Lagori. The event will be graced with lots of firework display, spot prizes and much more.
