MARGAO: 111 candidates have filed their nominations for the 25 wards of Margao Municipal Council.
On the last day of the nominations, the political parties and officials were on their toes to finish the process to go for the withdrawal process.

The Ward Nos 16, 17, 19, 21, and 22 have received two nominations each. The wards will mostly go into straight fights. Nearly 13 of the former councillors have filed their nominations in their wards again for the forthcoming election.
There are many new faces in fray this time and the Shadow Council for Margao too has fielded five candidates in different wards. The real fight will be clear as the withdrawal of nominations culminates.
The alliance or joining hands of the Fatorda Forward Panel and the Model Margao has lost steam midway, while their opponent Vibrant Margao led by the BJP has fielded a candidate in every ward.
